In the February Newsletter, Merle noted: “Although the first Creek settlement in what is now Tulsa, Oklahoma, took place between 1828 and 1836, the area belonged to several nations over the years. To put it another way, several different flags have flown over Tulsa.”

1541 – Spain
1682 – France
1762 – Spain
1763 – Great Britain
1800 – France
1803 – United States
1830 – Confederate States of America
1861 – The District of Indian Territory
1865 – United States 1907 – Oklahoma

So write a story. It could be comical, historical, dramatic, or even something completely off-the-wall (elves in Tulsa? Alien invasion, anyone?) Just remember, the requested theme is “patriotism”, and your story has to have something to do with Tulsa.
